Over the course of several planning applications, AGM was successful in securing Full planning permission for the erection of a temporary mobile home (for a rural worker) and, subsequently, the erection of a permanent rural worker dwelling to assist the growth of the equestrian stud.
Planning consent was also achieved for new equestrian facilities, a home office, and regularisation of the smokery.
As part of both applications, AGM were able to convincingly demonstrate that there was a justified ‘essential need’ for such a dwelling to be sited on the land. This involved the submission of robust and detailed financial accounts, along with a clear business plan for future growth and development, which led to the Local Planning Authority concluding that the business was financially sound and had clear prospects of remaining so in the future.
The permanent rural workers dwelling is single-storey and finished in timber cladding. Such a design choice was purposefully pursued as it replicated other existing buildings on site.
Architectural assistance was provided by Mitchell Taylor Workshop.
