Instructed by Rengen Ltd to assist in the conversion of the former restaurant and bar to provide a boutique co-working space in a Grade II listed building.
As No’s 1-5 Argyle Street are Listed, AGM worked alongside the architect to ensure a sympathetic scheme which revitalised the building, delivering a refreshing change to the ‘traditional office’ environment that is much more suited to the way that people live and work these days, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The site is located within a ‘Primary Shopping Frontage and Primary Shopping Area’ with development expected to maintain or provide
active ground floor uses and restrict changes of use. Through a considered Planning Statement, AGM demonstrated that the proposals would provide a positive contribution to the vitality, viability and diversity of the centre with the reception and communal kitchen on the ground floor providing an active frontage on the street.
Both applications were consented via a delegated decision from the LPA and AGM then assisted with submitting and discharging the relevant conditions to ensure that Rengen House could be developed and opened to the public as soon as possible.
