A long term client wished to make some alterations to their listed property in Bath, in preparation for their growing family.
Visiting the site AGM were able to understand how the row of terraced houses has been altered over time and put forward a scheme, similar to others either side of the clients property. High quality materiaks were chosen to match the existing property and improvements were included to enchance the listed building.
Suprisingly the Local Authority took a differing view and refused the application having particular with the two storey element. However AGM were confident the addition was acceptable and appealed the decision to the Planning Inspectorate who agreed with our approach and allowed the appeal.
During appeal determination period, AGM submitted a revised design to the Council incorporating their comments which was approved. Therefore the client had the revised option as a fall back but thankfully built out their initial design allowed by the Planning Inspector.
