Theatre Royal first approached AGM to seek permission for upgrading their traditional advertising boards to digital displays, aiming to better inform the public about the venue’s diverse entertainment offerings.
Given the building’s striking historic façade, it was essential that the proposed changes preserve its visual integrity. Although the initial application was refused by the council, AGM successfully appealed the decision, ultimately securing approval for the digital transformation.
Most recently, AGM managed the successful application for Venue 4, which renovates and repurposes part of the Theatre into a multi-use space for local community groups, theatre professionals, amateurs and visitors.
Achieving permission for this project helped solidify the future of the Theatre and progress accessibility to the community, whilst simultaneously respecting its heritage.
Support on the application was provided by Haworth Tompkins.
